Making progress in the new NAEYC Accreditation process means using many resources in your program improvement efforts.
Learn the 4 Steps and Requirements of the NAEYC Accreditation Process:- Attend an AFP sponsored overview session.
- Read NAEYC’s succinct primer on the steps of the process at www.naeyc.org/accreditation/steps.asp
- READ the new NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and Accreditation Performance Criteria.
- Enroll in the NAEYC process. This will secure your self-study kit.
- Update your program information with NAEYC to ensure that you receive important updates.
- Frequently access www.naeyc.org/selfstudy for technical updates to the materials.
- Participate in an AFP Study Group to actively discuss the new information.
- Identify the NAEYC established application and candidacy dates for currently accredited programs or for programs that are new to the NAEYC process.
- Call an AFP facilitator for guidance.
- If your program’s NAEYC accreditation expires in 2007, take action now!
